Instead of sleeping I decided to sing a song to God. Since I have an awesome new microphone I decided to record it and now I am sharing it with you. I didn’t sing to put it here, but to worship God. Therefore it might be long and possibly boring (not to me or to God) and it is mostly in Portuguese (with some parts in English), but feel free to listen to it or download. It was not edited and it has clear errors, but I don’t really care…

My free translation of the words is as follows:

After watching the video present on this link, I am not sure if I am more ashamed for being Brazilian or for being almost Australian. The video was at some fancy meeting of the G-20, and shows the President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama II, praising the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio “Lula” (literally translated to Squid in English, and for the sake of fun it is how I will call him from now on) da Silva. Watch the video and keep reading.

President Squid shows us his amazing communication skills by acting like a potato after President Obama tells him that he is his favourite, and that he is the most popular president on Earth because of his good looks. Even though Mr. Squid (SpongeBob’s friend… muahahaha!) had someone translating to portuguese everything Mr. Obama said, he was unable to say thanks or reply in any other way.

The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Kevin Rudd, on the other hand, proved once more that a fool looks (and only looks) wiser when his mouth is shut.

And about what President Obama said… well… that obviously was his April Fools’ Day joke! Did you get it? Very funny!

O Burro, o Tolo e o Engraçado.

Depois de assistir ao vídeo presente nesse link, não tenho certeza se me sinto mais envergonhado por ser Brasileiro ou por ser quase Australiano. O vídeo foi numa reunião do G20, e mostra o Presidente dos Estados Unidos da América, Barack Hussein Obama II, elogiando o Presidente do Brasil, Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva. O Presidente Lula nos mostra suas incríveis habilidades com comunicação ao agir como uma batata depois do Presidente Obama falar pra ele que ele é seu favorito, e que ele é o presidente mais popular da Terra por causa de sua boa aparência. Mesmo o Sr. Lula tendo alguém traduzindo pra ele tudo o que o Sr. Obama falou, ele foi incapaz de agradecer ou responder de alguma maneira.

O Primeiro Ministro da Austrália, Sr. Kevin Rudd, por outro lado, provou mais uma vez que um tolo parece (e apenas parece) mais sábio quando sua boca está fechada.

E sobre o que o Presidente Obama falou… bom… aquilo foi obviamente a sua piada de Primeiro de Abril! Entendeu?? Muito engraçado!

Some might wonder about the title of this post, thinking that this word is not part of my vocabulary. They are wrong, though. Friend is not only a word that is part of my vocabulary, but also part of my life.

I confess that I am not an extremelly sociable person, and for this reason I have only a few friends. But the friends that I have (and I can be very proud while I say this) are really my friends.

A friend to me is someone that knows exactly what I am thinking. The one that loves talking to me, even when I don’t say anything, or repeat the same thing over and over again. The one that realises that … are not only Ellipsis, but doubts, certainty, laughter and tears. The one that not only can deal with me when I am angry (or really really mad), but also knows exactly why I’m feeling like that and tries the possible (and sometimes the impossible) to help me to be different. A friend is the one who insists to talk to me on Skype, even when my microphone sucks or when I get angry because I can’t hear him/her properly. It is the one that knows exactly what it means “Cadu – Busy until jan/05″ or “Cadu – Happy new year!”. It is the one that has the patience to discuss with me about a comma during the night, even when I am sleep-walking and completely wrong…

In this photo it’s me and Lu after my High School graduation. She is one of these people that were really my friends during this past year. A friendship like this has an extreme value to me and it’s something I will never forget!

Me desculpa, mas isso é uma piada. Qualquer pessoa com cérebro sabe que não existe uma criança na face da terra que não precisa ser repreendida por um pai ou mãe. A não ser que as duas nunca tiveram um relacionamento e ligação emocional muito profundos, o que nesse caso pode resultar num relacionamento aparentemente “felizinho” mas sem nenhuma intimidade. Ou seja, em nenhum dos dois casos a afirmação da reportagem seria verdade.
